SPRING HOPE, NC, June 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hemp, Inc.(OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with the largest multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in the western hemisphere, announced today the company commends the U.S. Senate for unanimously adopting a resolution recognizing “the growing economic potential of industrial hemp” as well as its “historical relevance,” as reported by Marijuana Moment and featured in Forbes.
“While this is the third year in a row that the Senate has adopted a non-binding resolution recognizing the value of hemp without actually legalizing it, indications this year point to the strong possibility that Congress will finally take action to change the crop’s status under federal law,” reports Forbes.
Hemp, Inc. announced its support in April for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s introduction of a bill to remove industrial hemp from the federal government’s schedule of controlled substances. McConnell’s Hemp Farming Act of 2018 stipulates that hemp will be legalized and removed from the Controlled Substances Act and also makes industrial hemp eligible for crop insurance, and the bill continues to gain bipartisan support.
“Despite the legitimate uses of hemp, many agricultural producers of the United States are prohibited under current law from growing hemp,” the measure reads, according to Forbes. “Because most hemp cannot be grown legally in the United States, raw hemp material, and hemp products are imported for sale in the United States.”
Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin said, “This sends a strong message to hemp industry leaders and farmers across the country that our leaders on Capitol Hill are recognizing hemp as a crucial component of our agricultural landscape here in the United States,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “The United States is the largest consumer of hemp products in the world. Legalizing hemp at the federal level will empower farmers nationwide with a new revenue source and bolster America’s agricultural economy.”
Notably, there are now 40 states in the nation that have legalized hemp. Companies seeking to enter or further develop their footprint in the industrial hemp marketplace are aligning with Hemp, Inc. for the company’s proven expertise and state-of-the-art hemp processing and manufacturing infrastructure in Spring Hope, North Carolina. Hemp, Inc.’s 85,000 square foot hemp processing and manufacturing facility has been operational since August 2017.
Hemp, Inc.’s consulting agreement with HQ Global Education, Inc. (OTC:HQGE), a scientific research development company, entails that Hemp, Inc. will provide consulting services in an effort to help HQ Global Education, Inc. expand into the hemp CBD industry. In addition, Hemp, Inc. also announced that the company encourages large scale companies to secure their hemp biomass now before Hemp, Inc.’s supply runs out.
The 9th Annual Hemp History Week also started June 4, 2018, and has been ongoing this week and will conclude June 10, 2018. Giving veterans and other Americans a place to learn new skills and take part in this multi-billion-dollar hemp CBD market is very exciting. It’s a big part of our mission to give back.”
